What drew you to The Collective?

I did not expect to find the collective. I am a photographer and I enjoy bringing my travels and exploration to those who may not be able to. I have also been teaching and practicing Yoga for many years. I have practiced at many studios and taught at many. I had become burned out and disenchanted by the incongruencies of what I experienced behind the scenes.

I had planned on exploring that day with my camera. After which I decided to look for a studio where I have never been and found the collective. Once there I immediately realized that authenticity and passion live there. I immediately felt comfortable and at home. This is significant for me because I know what inauthentic is within the Yoga community.

What kind of teacher are you?

I have never considered myself a teacher. I have never considered anyone a student. I am simply practicing with you and holding space. I believe in the authentic teachings of Yoga. I was trained in the Sivananda lineage and fully believe in the 5 Points of Yoga. To not simply practice on the mat but use that practice to provide us tools to live off it. To simply “Be good and do good”. To be congruent with myself and the world.

5 Points - Proper Exercise, Proper Breathing, Proper Relaxation, Proper Diet, Positive Thinking & Meditation

What else are you up to?

My passion is the arts. I am an engineer by day and an artist by night. I enjoy traveling, photography, drawing, and writing. I am a certified scuba diver. I enjoy hiking and exploring new opportunities.

I use all my passions and bring them all together into my life’s mission of Realized Serenity. Bringing and sharing experiences, the arts, awareness of the beauty of nature, and moments of escape to allow for the painting of wonder within one’s self. To help someone take the snapshots of life and to live.
