We do not charge rent to our Teacher Members for our studio space, which allows experienced teachers to maximize their profits and a low barrier to entry for new teachers in getting started. Our goal is to give you the space and help you market the class that you teach based on your vision, business and brand identity. This is what sets us apart from other studios.
The standard pay for Teacher Members is $3 per student who attends their class. Once the class attendance consistently builds to a minimum of 15 students per class, this is increased by an additional $1 per student. If at any point The Collective offers you a 12 month term for your class(es), you will also receive an additional $1 per student.
Teacher Member classes will be featured on The Collective’s weekly schedule. If you are only interested in hosting an event or a workshop please visit the Collective Renter page instead and submit an application there.
All Teacher Members will be added to our website directory of professionals and featured on occasion in our newsletter and social media outlets for continued networking opportunities.
We want to see you win as much as you do which is why at the end of the season you will receive a breakdown of your class(es) activity and how it compares to previous season(s) if applicable. This will help us to plan together how to see what is working and could use some changes for the next season together.
Please note that our schedules for new Teacher Members are seasonal and we only book within the respective season. This allows us to keep things fresh and inclusive, providing equal opportunity to all who are interested.
Our Teacher Member applications are currently open and accepted on a rolling basis.
*Once your application has been submitted, and if our availability aligns with yours, the owner will be in touch to confirm your placement on the class schedule. We do our best to make room for everyone but have to work within our limitations.
Cancelation Policy -
The Teacher Member is required to teach their classes. We understand emergencies happen, things come up and travel takes place. In these circumstances, the Teacher Member class may be subbed out from other active Teacher Members. The Collective encourages at least a one week notice of schedule updates and sub changes.
No call, no shows will result in the immediate termination of the Teacher Member’s future scheduled classes without refund. We’re here to support you as an independent contractor and wish to help you grow your business, however we ask you to respect The Collective as well.
