Brittany
Brittany is a co-founder of The Collective St.Pete. She has an integrative approach to health and wellness and believes the balance of a persons mind, body and spirit is achieved through making small, conscious choices daily that equate to a lifelong practice that not only nurtures her clients well-being, but fosters their relationships at home and in the workplace, inspires their passions, and ultimately leads them down the path of their highest calling.
Brittany is a Mother first and foremost. She believes that her ability to see through the lens of motherhood enables her to serve her community with a nurturing love and compassionate heart. Brittany received her 200hr certification in Ashtanga vinyasa under the guidance of Jade Skinner of Sacred Space Yoga in 2012. She then completed over 600hrs of traditional Ashtanga yoga studies under KPJAYI Authorized teacher Jessica Lynne Trese of Yoga Chikitsa in 2014. Over the last 10 years Brittany has had the opportunity to practice under respected teachers of the Ashtanga yoga method all over the United States. Although Brittany no longer practices Ashtanga yoga exclusively, she holds the values of traditional yoga close to heart.
Brittany attended Florida Academy of Ayurveda, an accredited school of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, and studied under Denise O’ Dunn where she received her first certification of Ayurvedic Health Counselor in 2016 focusing on Ayurveda theory and lifestyle recommendations, and then continued on to receive her second certification and title of Ayurvedic Practitioner in 2018 focusing on clinical studies and pathology. Brittany participates in continued education programs regularly and has studied under revered teachers such as Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. Robert Svoboda and Maya Tiwari.
Brittany also studied Massage Therapy at Cortiva Institute and graduated as a LMT in 2020. She specializes in classical Ayurvedic body treatments, Swedish Relaxation, Myofascial Release and Neuromuscular Therapy with additional course work in Reflexology and Lymphatic Drainage.
What inspired The Collective?
The Collective was birthed out of our own individual needs as business owners and the over arching needs of the community from which we all live. We wanted to build a space that empowered the green entrepreneur, educator or creative so that they can share their gifts and be supported in the process.
What kind of teacher are you?
Steeped in Vedic studies, I Am a teacher that holds deep reverence for the traditional path while still open to progressive explorations of movement and thought. I try my best to shepherd the student to their teacher within, rather than amplifying myself as the leading voice. I prefer to hold space in a way that fosters deep introspection.
What else are you up to?
Currently growing a human, mothering a 4 year old and managing my practice Earthbound Ayurveda.
Schedule
Currently on maternity leave but will be back on the weekly schedule for the Summer Season.
