What drew you to The Collective?

was drawn to The Collective in it's embryonic stage through Tania Welch. I love the space and have great respect for Dani as a teacher and a healer in the community. I admire the vision of supporting all movers who step into the space- students and teachers alike. I feel that The Collective meets a need in the community for a clean, bright uplifting space with diverse offerings. Nia has many of the same benefits as yoga, dance and other mindfulness practices. However, it doesn't always fit in with a studio which is all yoga or all dance. My sense already is that Nia has a home here among the diverse offerings at The Collective.

What kind of teacher are you?

I would say I'm a fun and encouraging teacher. I'm passionate about teaching people how to make sensory connections to their bodies, minds, emotions and spirit. It is always a great joy to see students embody the movement clicks and find their dance. I'm also a licensed massage therapist so I love to bring a lot of sacred anatomy into my teaching. I'm also a perpetual student and enjoy taking and re-taking a variety of Nia classes and trainings. I'm a Black Belt level teacher and have also completed Nia's Moving to Heal, MOVE it and FloorPlay specialty training programs.

What else are you up to?

Aside from teaching Nia and practicing massage therapy, I am happily married to my husband Matt of 15 years. We have a 10 year old son, Graham. I love to read, see live music, and be in our pool and in nature as much as possible. I am a seeker and enthusiast of wellness knowledge.. nutrition, movement, meditation and spirituality. I find the human experience to be fascinating! I also love to mountain bike and enjoy a variety of snow sports.
