Intro to Modern Tantra: The Secrets of Sacred Sexuality w/ Eva Kali

In this fully clothed workshop led by Eva Kali, we will have the opportunity to open the door and have short practices from the basic level of tantric exercises that will support you in deepening the connection with yourself and in relationships. We’ll have a combination of breathing techniques, tantric touch and different loosening exercises used in classical tantra to awaken the sexual energy in the body.

What is Tantra? Tantra is a branch of Yoga that uses the human experience for realization and enlightenment. It differs from most spiritual approaches (including other Yoga branches) who find spiritual connection only through means of separating worldly pleasures and the spiritual self. In Tantra we find spirituality through the senses and fully embracing the human experience and the body.

What is modern tantra/sacred sexuality? Neo-tantra, modern tantra or sacred sexuality is a contemporary (western) approach to some of the classical Tantric practices mostly related to the body and sexuality as a way to access our sexual (creative) energy or life force through the connection to ourselves, our partners and our experiences as a tool to awaken the latent life force energy that lives in all of us (also known as Kundalini). The idea behind these practices is to transform the sexual energy (one of the most potent energies in existence) into supporting you to gain deeper intimacy and wellbeing in your life at a basic level, and total mastery of your sexual self at a higher level.

Do I need a partner to practice modern tantra? No. However you do need a partner for this workshop. Although the workshop is fully clothed, it is intended to strengthen the level of intimacy within yourself and in relationship. This doesn't mean the partner you join with has to be a romantic connection or a life partner; it can be a very good friend, someone you just met and feel super comfortable with, etc., there are no hard rules when it comes to creating that inner feeling of openness and vulnerability and to experience what it feels like when you share it outside yourself.
