Seasons of Grief

A seasonal ceremony to honor grief, resilience, and renewal.

We welcome you and your grief in all its forms: the unpredictable, the confusing, the messy, and even the profound moments. This ceremony invites you to tune in and observe your grieving experience with curiosity and compassion.

Guided by Clinical Social Worker + Grief Therapist Michelle Parasole and Trauma-Informed Yoga + Sound Practitioner Carley Skidmore, we will gather in community to explore insights and somatic resources for navigating grief, reflect through journaling prompts, and be guided through a meditation for finding ease within grief. The ceremony will conclude with sound healing to help regulate the nervous system and support deeper processing and integration.

Grief is not only about loss through death. It may arise from chapter-endings, transitions, or parting with old versions of ourselves. In this ceremony, we aim to nurture a sense of safety that allows you to simply be with grief, letting your experience unfold in its own way and time.

Please bring a journal and pen, as well as a totem or photo that represents who or what you are currently grieving.

Sliding Scale Pricing: $20, $15 or $10 options

About the host, Michelle Parasole

Michelle is a licensed clinical social worker and therapist, specializing in grief, trauma, and life transitions. Her practice centers on a holistic approach, acknowledging that each client's experience with grief is unique. Michelle's personal experiences with loss have instilled a passion toward helping others navigate the grieving process with authenticity and to rebuild a purposeful life following tragedy. Much of her career has been dedicated to end-of-life care, as a hospice social worker and now grief counselor in St. Petersburg, FL.

In her current role, she works with hospice family members following the loss of a loved one and with those who have experienced traumatic or sudden loss through individual, family, and group counseling. Based on her personal experiences and extensive training in trauma treatment, she has found wellness can be improved by learning to care for the mind, body, and spirit. She is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which engages clients in guided imagery and somatic experiences during trauma treatment. In a culture that often values quick solutions and individualism, Michelle’s hope is to assist her clients with confronting difficult emotions through self-compassion. One of her goals is to educate clients on how engaging in community and facing our vulnerability can help us heal.

About the host, Carley Skidmore

Carley is a Trauma-Informed Yoga + Sound Practitioner who supports individuals in reconnecting with their breath and dropping into their bodies and through movement, guided meditation, and sound healing. Her personal practice and teaching style are deeply focused on nervous system regulation, offering students accessible tools to support their well-being on and off the mat. Through compassionate guidance, Carley helps students explore their inner landscape with curiosity and find steadiness between stillness and movement, effort and ease.

Carley has been teaching for 7 years (NYC and St. Pete) and is currently pursuing a certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy. Through her own experiences in grief, Carley has learned to slow down, honor its non-linear path, and lean on practices that nurture healing at her own pace. She now shares these practices with her community, supporting others as they navigate their own healing.
